Problem With My X5 Radio

Hi folks, I have recently collected my first X5 after years of watching on enviously. I now have a relatively low mileage 53 plate 3.0 petrol sport which drives like a dream. I couldn't have been happier. Five days on, then, for no apparent reason, the radio and CD function just disappeared from the computer screen, even though the SatNav works fine. I noticed that the small led light near to the left side knob is no longer illuminated but clearly there is still power to the unit. Additionally the 'voice' on the Sat Nav no longer talks to me albeit the directions and mapping are fine. Has this happened to anybody else? Is this a common fault? Can anybody help? As I have just about spent every penny on the car, if its going to be an expensive fix can you please break it to me gently !

Thanks

Being Blonde?

Am I just being really thick here or is an E36 an E36?! I seem to struggle to get parts because it's on a 2000 plate instead of a 99! Will things such as body work be the same on mine as a compact on a 99? Suppliers keep telling me it's completely different but I'm not convinced... Thanks in advance

Help! 320D E46 Engine Bay Smokes

So i brought a bmw 320d e46 back in january it had 145k on the clock but has has a full engine rebuild (inc. 3 new pistons) a new turbo, clutch and flywheel and has been serviced regularly. It's now on 151k and i was driving on a relatively short journey when i noticed at a set of lights smokes was coming through me bonnet and the top and when i could i pulled over and check smoke was coming out from under the engine cover from the top right (exhaust manifold side) i let it stand for awhile before starting it again and by the time i got home smoke was coming from the heather vents and it smokes of fuel quite strong. Could it be a crack in the turbo/exhaust manifold? or something different? Is it a costly job? Any help is much appreciated thanks.

Steering Wheel Replacement

Morning all. I have brought myself a 320d but the entire top of the steering wheel is worn away and it is really sticky and leaves a horrible residue on yours hands... Really not nice. I have tried giving it a clean and although it has made a slight improvement its still not great.

I am looking at buying a replacement and I had a question. The multi function wheels are coming in about £100 but I noticed you can buy just the multifunction panels as well. Would this mean that I could buy a normal wheel for a lot less without the multifunction buttons, pop the panel off and replace it with my multifunction one? Just to note mine is the 3 spoke variety with round centre cap and split bottom spoke.
