Hello again club, I have a problem with my central locking system on my 2002 x5. 90,000 miles. its 4.6 si. The central locks wont operate with the key, but they will work with the internal switch. I cant lock or open the doors with the key from outside either which makes me think that the key is not the problem. Can anyone assist me please. Thanks.

Have you tried re-programming the fob to the system?

Good luck... And, if it fails, don't panic... It could take a few tries !!!
BTW, thanks for the "Rep" point B)

Today I tried to use the method that you kindly directed me to. Something happened as when I released the lock button the rear windows lowered & the sun roof opened. But no joy with the central locks, also now they wont operate from inside switch.
Thanks, Harry

At some point in the procedure it worked as you must've held the unlock button too long and that activates full-open ! Keep trying...
