Hello everyone I am a new member, thought it would be a useful site to be apart of :)

I've had my bmw for about 3 months and is my first car.

she's a lovely machine but has a one or two flaws, wondering if any one could be of help.

My airbag light is on illuminated, I know its the front passenger side seat pad sensor, my question is how difficult is it to replace the sensor and what sort of price will I be looking at?

Secondly I have a rust bubble on one of the rear wheel arches is there an inexpensive way of sorting it out?

and lastly every know and again i can smell the clucth, it isn't slipping and performs well but its just a little disconcerting.

i'd really appreciate any feedback everyone has.

Thanks people :)

Morning!, a few peeps would be more than happy with a BMW coupe as there first car,

When it comes to rust DO NOT TAKE THE CHEAP OPTION, if it is just sanded down and skim with filler then in 6 months time it will be bubbling again, So it will need rubbing down to shiney metal, treating and coating properly and the panel painted, Honestly in the mid-long run(and re sale) it will be worth it.

Air bag light, search the forums it’s a common fault

Clutch smell? Without sounding insulting, you are not riding the clutch/downing a lot of town work? Are you sure its clutch not brakes? The smell of clutch is normally alongside slipping/juddering

Thanks :)

I'll get a some quotes for the rust bubble, air bag wise I know it is the seat pad sensor the srs system thinks someone is always in the seat.

Clutch wise, no i'm not riding the clutch, foot is no where near the pedal, also no juddering/ slipping. On average I do 16 miles a day which is a bit stop start in traffic. its quite possible it could be the brakes smelling as I replaced the rear pads, and o/s/f caliper, she drives well so I think i'm just over worrying, I plan to just see how it goes, if It starts smelling again I shall investigate further. Thank you for the feed back :)
